The Benefits ofRadiant Heat Therapy

Why is radiant heat so beneficial? Infrared heat is radiant heat, energy that heats objects directly without heating the surrounding air.
Your body feels pleasantly warm without feeling exhausted in a hot room. The heat in radiant heat yoga is therapeutic, not oppressive.
Infrared heat yoga helps increase circulation, alleviate aches, and revitalize your body with a sense of wellness and warmth from within.
To top it all, radiant heat is completely healthy and safe.
With Radiant Heat Yoga, you are soaking up the warm goodness of sunshine without having to stay outdoors and squint your eyes because of the bright sun. Experience warm healing from within!
Notable Benefits of Infrared Hot Yoga:

  • It can make the body more flexible and limber
  • Removes toxins stored in the body
  • Aids in healing
  • Promotes skin health and weight loss
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Reduces stress
  • It is a healthier option than hot yoga as it is safer and even applied in medical settings to help newborns fully grow and aid in healing painful and immobile joints among adults.

Owner/Instructor: Laura grew up dancing. Always moving, she has been interested in the body and its capabilities since she was a child. Laura was introduced to yoga when she was in college, just happening upon the class as an elective! That first yoga class, the single 1 hour moment changed her life forever. Over time, the weekly yoga class turned into a lifestyle for Laura. She found that through simple practices such as movement, breathwork, and stillness, she was able to transform what seemed like everything! Fast forward 10 years--and after much influence from various classes, teachers, workshops and retreats--Laura completed her 200-hour certificate for YTT. Not long after, and while also teaching to her wonderful students and community--Laura completed yoga therapy training thus giving her the 300 YTT. Laura's classes combine a strong ashtanga yoga style with a hatha yoga practice. She believes that every aspect of yoga--movement, breathwork and meditation is important. Laura creates a fun and lighthearted environment for her students--and takes a very personal approach to her teaching. Laura is also a trained and certified ChildLight Tween + Teen Yoga + Mindfulness Instructor, RCYT. She lives in Tahlequah with her husband and 3 wonderful girls

Instructor: My name is Carrie Scearce and I’ve been a trainer at Aerofit since February of 2017. My adventure with Aerofit however, began in October of 2015. I was strongly persuaded to come in with my friend Kelley Roberson who was working with a trainer and wanted me to meet him and see how the whole “personal trainer” thing worked. I was very intimidated and flat out terrified at the thought of training with a fitness expert, however I made my decision that day and began the process the next morning. I cried as I drove to the gym knowing I was going to have to face my “numbers”. Tipping the scales at nearly 300 lbs I knew I had my work cut out for me; but I was determined. One year later I was down 100 lbs and well on my way to my goal. Out of my experience of training I began to think about helping others who were just like me. I wanted to train and help using my own experiences, struggles, disappointments and successes. Since I became a certified personal trainer I have had the opportunity to help many people get healthy. In October of 2018 I began my training as a certified Holy Yoga instructor and completed my training in May of 2019. I have been leading classes at Aerofit health club since that date. I am a 200+ hour certified instructor with additional certification in Touch Yoga. It is a true blessing to me to be able to enter into someone’s struggle and be a source of help, encouragement and accountability. I know God has placed me here and it is a joy to help others as a personal trainer and Holy Yoga instructor

Instructor: Alice Alice began her yoga journey about 7 years ago as part of a wellness routine to manage stress and stay active while traveling for work. What started as movement for balance quickly grew into a meaningful practice that supports both body and mind. Her Yoga Teacher Training (YTT200) has been done through YogaRenew, a Yoga Alliance certified program. Alongside teaching yoga, Alice holds an executive leadership role with a large home health and hospice company, where she helps families navigate some of life’s most vulnerable and critical moments. Her passion for caring for others extends into her teaching style, where she creates supportive, intentional spaces for students to grow. Alice and her husband, Jerry live by the principles of the “Blue Zones philosophy” embracing a plant-based lifestyle and prioritizing wellness through functional activities such as walking, biking, hiking, and gardening. She believes yoga, much like these daily practices, is a pathway to sustainable health, resilience, and joy.

Instructor Keri: is a RYT 200 yoga teacher specializing in power flows and Ashtanga Yoga. She discovered yoga at 16, and quickly learned that it was her calling! At the time, she was focused on the physical aspects of yoga, but as she started her RYT-200 courses she became more interested in yoga philosophy and the spiritual aspects ; the connection between body and spirit. She loves to travel, and learn and to grow. She loves teaching yoga because it gives her the opportunity to train her brain to rest and her body to breathe. Practicing yoga helps her feel grounded in the present moment and connected to her mind, and she would love for everyone to experience this with her.

Instructor: Melissa found yoga in her late twenties and has been teaching for the past 2 years. There was a time when asana practice was replaced with the stresses of daily life, but during the pandemic, she came back to the physical practice of yoga and reincorporating the philosophy, which brought more peace, more joy, and a passion and desire to help others enjoy yoga as well. She is a licensed mental health professional who loves integrating yoga into her therapy work with individuals. She enjoys teaching how yoga can help manage stress, improve your mood, and improve your overall wellness. Her classes are trauma informed and offer a lot of options to make the poses work for you, recognizing that how we show up on our mat differs day to day. She believes that yoga is for everybody, and that means every body. She is a mom, raising two amazing kids with her awesome husband of 13 years. When she isn't teaching yoga at The 108 or The Yoga Station, she is providing therapy at C4 Counseling and spending time with her loving family.

Instructor: LaNice received her AYTT and 100 hr certification from Synergy Studio and later pursued an additional 30 hr training from Circasana, a program that teaches student to fuse the introspective qualities of yoga (mindfulness, asanas and breath work) with the expressive qualities of aerial arts (dance, creativity, strength and grace). Aside from teaching and performing aerial, she is a dual-state certified music teacher for Oklahoma and Texas and enjoys supporting movement and the arts. She believes that all bodies deserve to be loved, celebrated, and pushed to meet their individual potential. LaNice's classes incorporate movement to ease tension from the body, head to toe. Through slow, mindful stretches and fluid motions, she encourages you to let go of the stresses of the day and tune into the present moment.
